Phyllis Anne Cleek, born Oct 22,1980 to parents Gerald Cleek and Susan Westcott, passed away peacefully in her home in Phoenix, AZ of natural causes on Oct 21, 2014. She graduated from Paradise High School in 1998 as Valedictorian then attended UC San Diego and Chico State University graduating with BS degrees in Chemistry and Biology. Her first passion as a young child was horses, by high school she was an accomplished hunter/ jumper equestrian. In high school she was named the Reserve Grand Champion at the Pebble Beach Hunter/Jumper Competition. After college she sold her possessions, made a charitable contribution and started her service to the poor. She served as a summer missionary in Mali and was involved in mission work for the next 12 years, including 4 1/2 years in the Middle East. Her travels have taken her to 15 countries. During the last 3 years she started a non profit and opened 8 Bible Schools in AZ. She was a delightful, fun loving woman who had a passion for her Lord Savior Jesus Christ. In her short life, she impacted the lives of more people than most do in a lifetime. She is survived by her parents, her step father James Westcott, two step sisters Megan and Julia, her grandmother Norma Mason and her beloved dog Bella. She was preceded in death by her grandfather George Mason and her paternal grandparents, Helen and Norris Cleek. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to name. We are all better people for having known Phyllis Anne. A service will be held in Phoenix, AZ. Tuesday, Oct 28 and a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Nov.1 in Orland for family.
